Mark and Heather had lived in their home for over ten years when they decided to undertake a large  extension and refurbish the entire property. The 1970s house hadn’t been modernised since it was built and the couple realised that they needed to change the configuration of the space to make the property work for their lifestyle. Mark explains, “As the children are getting older we found the way we used the space was changing and we were spending time in different rooms. One of our main motivations was to create a large open-plan area where we could all be together.”
The couple had been considering the possibility of extending for a few years and discovered L&E in a magazine. “We liked their informative and detailed stories about their projects. Very quickly after contacting them we were taken to a couple of other extensions they’d completed, which we found very reassuring,” remembers Mark.
The family moved out and the building work began. “We were very, very impressed with the building team. They turned up on time: they arrived early and worked late. The site was always really tidy; it felt like the pride in their work extended to keeping the site tidy. We always had the impression the project was very efficiently run.”
Floors were replaced, underfloor heating added as well as the new rear and side extension being built. The L&E building team completed all the work including plumbing work, electrics, and the decoration of whole house. The Rhodens are delighted with the work and have already recommended L&E to others.
